"Our" cow Olive

When Grandma Linda came to visit, we "adopted" a calf named Olive. Grandma loves cows. (Mama in--that's an understatement!) My name went on the adoption form so that I could go visit Olive and watch her get bigger. When we first met Olive, she looked like this:
Grandma petting Olive.
We visited her last month:
She had her own little shed and pen
One of the volunteers showed Mama and I how to scratch under Olive's chin. She likes this a lot. It was pretty obvious that she liked the volunteer, too. She tried to follow him when he went off to finish other chores.
When we went on Saturday, Olive was out with the big cows and she had turned black! It was quite hot and she never got close enough to us to give her a scratch. Mama says that she barely got this picture.

Pony Ride at the Farm!

We went to The Farm on Saturday. Daddy hurt his ankle and was in the wheelchair, so he got to do some of the photography. I got to ride a little pony named Sammy. Mama says that he is a palomino. I put my helmet on and Mama helped me into the saddle.
Big smile!
Hi Daddy!
Look at that pretty tail and look at me go!
All too soon it was over. (Mama in--I actually think this was more my feeling than Russell's!)
A hug for a good little pony.
