Eight months

Eight months into the world, and moving right along. I'm working on improving my abilities to get food to my mouth.

Mama saw me clap this morning, and got so excited that I stopped!

I almost have another new tooth coming in, on the upper right in the center, but it's not quite through the gums yet. I am continuing to chew on just about anything I get my hands on.

January 20--and then there were three

TEETH! I now have one on the top left!

King of the Mountain!

OK, King of the Stairs! I have mastered my crawling to the point of crawling up the stairs. On my own. Both sets. I was pretty excited when I got to the landing the first time. I was not excited that Mama insisted on following closely behind me until she learned just the right distance to stay "back." Once I got all the way to the top, she stuck a baby gate in place and I'm not sure why, other than maybe to annoy the cat.

Mama keeps saying that she is earning her gray hairs, but I'm not sure what that means. She also wants me to tell you that she tried to teach me how to go down the stairs backwards, but I either didn't understand or wasn't ready to learn at that time.

New and Uh-oh

Mama found this new toy for me and it allows me to do a lot of jumping. This morning the light caught one of the mirrors just right and I was entertaining the cats. I'm fascinated with the cats, so they were entertaining me.

I also climbed my first stair today. Mama's comment was "uh-oh!" Thankfully they have a baby gate that fits, even if that does frustrate me.

January 5 - Jumping on the bed

Mama did not get a picture of it, but today I discovered jumping on the bed. I noticed how the animals on the mobile shook, and I found out that the crib makes noise when I bounce the mattress. I was having fun!

(Mama was indeed a bit dismayed, although not surprised. I have a real talent for bonking my head on things, and she guesses that I'm due for several falls from jumping on beds before I'm done growing. But she is asking why it had to happen so soon!)

New Year's Resolutions

I hereby resolve to learn to walk in 2010.

I also resolve to try to drive my mama crazy by getting into things that she doesn't want me to put in my mouth. Oh, wait, I do that already!
